Uber Eats Closing service in Bangladesh!!

Uber Eats Closing service in Bangladesh
Global ride-sharing platform Uber's food delivery service, Uber Eats, has decided to close down its operation in Bangladesh from June of this year.

"After a year of partnering with local restaurants to offer convenient and reliable food delivery, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Uber Eats in Bangladesh, on June 2nd 2020," reads a notice published today on Uber Newsroom, the platform's digital press wing.

However, the company will continue its Rides operation in the country, according to the notice.

"We have made the decision to discontinue Uber Eats as part of our strategy of focusing our energy and resources on our top Eats markets around the world," said an Uber spokesperson.

Uber, the first international ride-sharing platform to enter Bangladesh, started its operations in the country in 2016, and was founded in 2009 in San Francisco, USA.
Currently, the ride-sharing platform operates in around 900 cities across the globe, and has branched out into logistics and food delivery services in many of those.

"Our number one priority now is to do everything possible to minimise the impact on our valued employees, restaurant partners, delivery partners and consumers who have supported us," adds the notice.
